I’m back – and it’s going to be a busy few months!

It’s been almost two years since my last post. Honestly? I lost interest for a while. AI-generated content flooded every search result and blog feed, reader numbers dropped, and writing for an audience increasingly just asking ChatGPT felt pointless. I wasn’t going to write to feed the AI machine.

However, I found I miss it. Not the metrics – just the writing itself. Having somewhere to put things I’ve learned, somewhere to come back to six months later when I’ve forgotten the details. So I’m back, on my own terms: I’ll write when I have something worth saying, not to a schedule.

And right now I have quite a lot worth saying – two conferences on different continents, four sessions, three weeks. And then something I’m even more personally invested in: a community event I’m helping build from the ground up here in Australia.

Directions ASIA 2026 – Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam (May 13–15)

First up: Directions ASIA 2026, May 13–15 in Ho Chi Minh City. If you haven’t been to Asia with the Dynamics community before, this is a different kind of energy – and Vietnam in particular is something special.

I have two sessions there:

From Idea to Extension: Building Solutions with Business Central’s Agent Playground (May 13, 16:00 – VIP 3+4)

The Business Central Agent Playground opens a new door in how we build and prototype solutions. In this session I’ll show how you can go from a customer requirement to a working prototype in under an hour – using natural language, the full BC action and field set, and your own prompts. We’ll walk through real scenarios and the prompting patterns that actually work.

If you’re curious about what the Playground can and can’t do, this session is for you.

Panel: How We Use AI in our AL Development Workflow (May 14, 17:00 – Ballroom 1)

This one is a panel – and I’m sitting next to some of the best in the community: Waldo, Vjeko Babic, Arend-Jan Kauffmann, and Dmitry Katson. Expect answers about what AI tools actually improve in an AL development workflow, what doesn’t work, and where this is all heading. No marketing language – just developers comparing notes.

DynamicsMinds 2026 – Portoroz, Slovenia (May 26–28)

A few weeks after Vietnam, I’ll be in Portoroz for DynamicsMinds. Two sessions there as well:

Business Central Agent Playground (May 26, 09:00 – EUROPA A)

I’ll be running the Agent Playground session again on the first morning of DynamicsMinds. If you miss the Ho Chi Minh City slot, catch this one in Slovenia – more time, more audience questions, and by then I’ll have a few more real-world examples to share.

Spellbound by Licenses: Spotting Multiplexing Risks and Needs (May 27, 15:15 – EMERALD II)

Licensing is one of those topics people nod along to in meetings and then panic about six months later when an audit shows up. This session cuts through the jargon and gets straight to what multiplexing actually looks like in Dynamics 365 and Power Platform – portals, API integrations, background services, Power Automate flows – and when a service account quietly creates extra license obligations.

Days of Knowledge ANZ 2026 – Melbourne, Australia (September 3–4)

Now the one I’m most personally invested in: Days of Knowledge ANZ 2026, September 3–4 in Melbourne.

I am one of three organizers behind this event. It’s a dedicated two-day conference for Business Central partners, developers, consultants, ISVs, and users right here in Australia and New Zealand – and we want to make it genuinely great. Two full days, real technical depth, community focus.

Tickets are on sale now – Early Bird pricing is 250 AUD. Group discounts apply: 10% for 5+ tickets, 20% for 10+. If you’re in the ANZ region and involved in the Dynamics ecosystem in any capacity, this is the event to be at.

We are also open for speaker submissions. If you have a topic worth sharing with the ANZ BC community, please apply – we want a diverse lineup and I’d love to see more voices from the local community on the agenda.

I’ll have dedicated posts about DoK ANZ in the coming months as we get closer to September, but I wanted to put this on your radar now. Melbourne, September – mark it in your calendar.

It genuinely is going to be a busy few months. Vietnam in May, Slovenia in May, Melbourne in September – and a renewed commitment to actually writing about what I’m learning along the way.

Are you heading to any of these events? Let me know in the comments on LinkedIn – would love to connect in person!
